Broken Paw

Well, this is day four of not doing any sewing or quilting. On Tuesday I fell while running to catch a retired Navy man's hat! Just as I reached down to grab it I turned and took a nasty trip. Landing mostly on my left where I broke my baby finger! My right hand took all the road rash and I have three nasty gashes on the heel of my hand. On a positive note I can move my right hand quite well now but can't put any pressure on my left or grasp anything with my left. Hopefully the swelling and pain will be bearable with a few more days rest. Battered and bruised yes, but not as much as my ego. I forget that I'm not 20 anymore! Lol. I should be glad that nothing more significant was broken.

Kinsley's Quilt

Finished quilting this quilt this morning. It's been washed and put in the dryer to give it that "crinkly quilt" feel and look. I made this for my niece's new baby born Dec 18th, 2018. Unfortunately, I won't be able to give it to her until the spring when I get home.  I hope she likes it. Or rather I hope her mom, my niece likes it!

Double Wedding Ring Quilt

Well, I finished my very first Double Wedding Ring quilt! What a project! I'm a new quilter (have only been quilting for three years), and I am self taught with the help of YouTube! I bought the templates for this quilt last February at the quilt show on South Padre Island but it doesn't have instructions! I started cutting out all the pieces in October and started sewing it all together in November. It is not perfect but the quilt top is done! I won't actually quilt it until I get home in May. I'll post a pic when I get that done but for now, I'll try to post a pic of what I have done.
